Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan tied the knot on Saturday, Jan. 19, with Clay Pell, director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House.

Kwan, 32, and Clay Pell, 31, exchanged wedding vows at the First Unitarian Church of Providence, Rhode Island. The bride walked down the aisle with her father, Danny Kwan, wearing a Vera Wang dress. The groom, a Coast Guard lieutenant, was decked out in his uniform.

Guest included fellow Olympians Brian Boitano, Dick Button, Dorothy Hamill and ice skater, Kwan's brother-in-law, Peter Oppegard.

Kwan and Pell, a grandson of the late Sen. Claiborne Pell, first met in April 2011 while they both applied for a prestigious White House fellowship.

They announced their engagement in September last year.

Kwan is the most decorated figure skater in American history. She won 43 championships, including two Olympic medals -- silver at the 1998 Winter Olympics and bronze at the 2002 Games. She works as a senior advisor for public diplomacy and public affairs.
