Freddie Combs, 540lbs, Wheelchair-Bound Minister Wows X Factor Judges

On : 2012 Sep 28

The final audition episode of The X Factor was full of exciting performances, laughter, and OMG moments. The biggest highlight of the night, however, came from Freddie Combs, a 540 lb. wheelchair bound minister.

The 41-year-old from North Carolina inspired everyone with his moving story about nearly dying in 2009 when he was at the dangerous weight of 920 lbs. He lost nearly 400 through diet and exercise since then.

Freddie managed to wow the judges with his 'heavenly voice' after an emotional rendition of Wind Beneath My Wing.

"When I heard you sing, I had a vision in my mind of you standing, singing that song, healthy, happy, and maybe you need some inspiration to help you to the next stage," Simon Cowell told Combs. " I'll back you if you back yourself."

Freddie and his wife of 16-years Kay were featured on a TLC special called "Ton of Love" back in 2010 and also appeared on a 2011 special, "Heavily Ever After: The Big Climb."
