Ryan Lochte Explains Mom's 'One-Night Stand' Comment

Ryan Lochte wants the ladies to know that despite what his mom said, he's not a hit-it-and-quit-it kind of guy.

In fact, he has never had a one-night stand, says the Olympian.

In an interview with Today earlier this week, Ryan's mom Ike said, "He goes out on one-night stands. He's not able to give fully to a relationship because he's always on the go."

Ryan insists that mom just misspoke. "When I'm in a relationship, I want to give that person my entire heart and I wasn't able to ever do that because of swimming. I'm always on the go. So what she meant is that I do go out on dates," he explains.

"She's new to the whole media (experience), so she didn't really understand that they were going to twist it and make it bad, the 28-year-old gold medalist told Us Weekly while attempting to clear up his reputation. "I've never done that and never have been like that, so I don't want people to think that about me," the swimmer added.

Ike told USA Today that she blamed the media for the confusion, "I thought that was so sensitive, but then they turned it around. I'm not used to this. . What kind of mom is going to say that (about her son having one-night stands)? Especially being a mom and having two daughters."
