Kim Kardashian Marriage 'Wasn't a Sham,' Says Mom Kris Jenner

Momager Kris Jenner went on the TODAY show Tuesday in defense of her daughter Kim Kardashian's decision to divorce Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage.

"It makes me feel sad that some people are reacting that way," Jenner, 55, said of the public's negative reaction. "It certainly wasn't a sham, certainly wasn't for TV. We have enough going on on our show that we don't have to make things up," Jenner added, trying to rebut claims that the family made millions of dollars in profits from Kim's fairy-tale wedding.

Still, she admits they "made some money for the pictures that were sold and things like that" ...but says the fam didn't profit, because all of that money went back towards paying for the wedding.

As for the rumored $1 million People magazine paid for the photo rights, Jenner said they cost "less than a million, more than half a million dollars."

Jenner also shot down another socially accepted fact -- Kim's engagement ring wasn't even close to costing $2 million!

"It was not 2 mill, it was less than half of that," she said.
