Adele Does Cosmopolitan December 2011

British singer/songwriter Adele pretties up the December 2011 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in a leopard-print Dolce&Gabbana dress.

Inside the issue, the 23-year-old singing sensation opened up about some of her favorite singers of all time, telling, "My favorite singers are Etta James and Aretha Franklin. If you were to look up the word singer in the dictionary you'd see their names. Not mine."

This weekend, a rumor swept Twitter and other social media claiming Adele has throat cancer after she announced the cancellation of all her remaining 2011 concerts and appearances.

A rep for Adele said Monday, "We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false."

The singer recently told the Sun that her problems were caused not by her vocal technique but by talking too much.

"I damage my voice offstage, not onstage," she said. "Onstage I am fine as apparently I am technically great, but when I talk I damage my voice big time. I have got screwed into giving up smoking. If I wasn't a singer I still would be smoking 25 a day."
