Adele 'Someone Like You,' Performance at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards VIDEO

Last night's MTV Video Music Awards featured plenty of stunning performances, but singer Adele's performance of "Someone Like You" was probably the best of the night.

Wearing an elegant black dress, the 23 year-old British singer stood in one spot and delivered a heart-wrenching performance.

"I wrote that song because I was exhausted from being such a [expletive,] with 'Rolling in the Deep' or 'Rumor Has It,'" she told MTV about the song's meaning.

During the VMA pre-show, Britney Spears said she was looking forward to Adele's performance!

"I love her. I'm the biggest fan. I'm really excited about seeing [her]," Brit shared.

Adele took home a total of four coveted awards; Best Art Direction, Editing, Cinematography, and Direction, for her "Rolling in the Deep" video.
