Javier Colon: The Voice Winner!
The Voice has crowned its first winner!
After 10 weeks of competition, soul singer Javier Colon won NBC's breakout hit The Voice Wednesday night, claiming the show's very first grand prize of $100,000 and a recording contract.
"Thank you. I don't even know where to begin other than to say that the three women behind here are absolutely awesome," an emotional Colon said and hugged his wife and two daughters. "I want to thank everybody at home who believed in me and voted for me and [I want to thank] my family."
Colon will use his cash prize to pay off school loans, put more payments in on his house, "and take my wife on a spa weekend because she so deserves it," he said.
Adam Levine's protégé Colon beat out second-place finisher Dia Frampton (from Blake Shelton's team) by a mere two percent of the vote.
Frampton and third- and fourth-place finishers Beverly McClellan and Vicci Martinez will join Colon and the show's four other finalists on The Voice's six-city concert tour this summer.
