Football Player James: 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition'
Next Monday, ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" will feature the weight loss journey of James, a 25-year-old former football player from Fort Worth, Texas.
James tipped the scale at a dangerous 651 pounds on his first weigh in. He is the most obese person trainer Chris Powell has ever worked with.
James had a knee injury in high school which made him to quit football. After his dream of playing professional football was shattered, James started spending long hours behind his computer, consuming unhealthy food which caused his weight ballooned to 651 lbs.
In a desperate attempt to save his life, James has joined personal trainer Chris . James must lose 150 pounds to stay on track in the first of his four, three-month phases of weight loss.
Chris hopes to motivate James by bringing in help from former Dallas Cowboys star Nate Newton -- who lost 175 pounds after once weighing 401 pounds -- and one of James' childhood heroes, Dallas Cowboys Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin.
This episode of "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" airs Monday June 20, 2011 at 10 pm.
