Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Amanda Brumfield Guilty of Manslaughter
Billy Bob Thornton's estranged daughter Amanda Brumfield has been found guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a child, reports the Associated Press.
Brumfield, 32, was acquitted last Friday of the first-degree murder and aggravated child-abuse charges in the 2008 death of a 1-year-old girl in Orlando, Florida. She will be sentenced in July.
Brumfield was babysitting her best friend's child, Olivia Garcia, overnight in October 2008. Brumfield claimed the little girl fell and hit her head while trying to climb out of a playpen. The prosecutors said it was "impossible" that a fall from such a short height could cause a 3.5-inch fracture on the child's skull.
Brumfield's trial was held in the same courthouse where Casey Anthony is on trial for the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Brumfield is Thornton's eldest daughter with his first wife, Melissa Gatlin.
