Yvette Vickers - Playboy Playmate Dies Mysteriously
Actress and former Playboy playmate Yvette Vickers was found dead last week in her Los Angeles home - and could have been dead for close to a year, according to report.
Police discovered the mummified remains of Yvette Vickers last Wednesday at her Benedict Canyon home after a neighbor spotted cobwebs in her mailbox. The official cause of death has not been determined yet.
"She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit," her neighbor, actress Susan Savage said. "To the end she still got cards and letter[s] from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend."
"We've all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that," Savage said.
Vickers starred in cult films like Attack of the 50-Foot Woman (1958) and Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959). She posed for Playboy in 1959. Vickers acted in numerous TV shows and had small roles in several films including the Oscar-winning Hud opposite Paul Newman.
