Scotty McCreery sang "Cross My Heart" by George Strait on American Idol, April 13.

Scotty initially considered singing "Everybody's Talking" by Nilsson but then decided to go with a safer choice: I Cross My Heart from Pure Country.

Scotty accidentally called Jimmy Iovine "dude," then corrected himself and said, "sir."

Steven : "You picked the just right song."

Jennifer: "Everybody wants us to be tough with you guys, but the truth is you're so damn good."

Randy: "If it ain't broke don't even consider fixing it. A star is born on this stage. "
