After many weeks of Internet speculation, "The Bachelor" castoff Ashley Hebert will be the new Bachelorette!

Ashley Hebert was announced as the star of ABC's The Bachelorette 2011 on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night.

Kimmel jokingly asked the new Bachelorette to swear a solemn oath: "Do you promise, on national television, to date 25 men simultaneously without complaining? Do you promise to make sure the hot tubs are clean and have enough chlorine and their bacteria levels are low?"

"I'll do my best with that," Ashley promised.

The 26-year-old dental school student from Philadelphia, PA, was one of the last three women remaining on this season's Bachelor before Brad Womack sent her home.

According to rumors, Bachelor runner-up Chantal O'Brien was in the running for the gig, but she backed out because she's already dating a guy named Jeff Razore. Jeff is a Seattle native and works as a marketing consultant.

The Bachelorette 2011 will premiere May 23 and is expected to begin filming in a few days.

Ashley Hebert BIO: A native of Madawaska, Maine, Ashley is the youngest of three siblings.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine with a BS in biology. She was Maine's 2002 Junior Miss and went on to compete in America's Junior Miss, where she received a scholarship for the fitness portion of the competition. She was the captain of the dance team in college and also worked in an after-school program teaching dance.

She will graduate in May with a 3.96 GPA and the degree of DMD, Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Ashley has ink on her inner right wrist, a tattoo that says, "Crazy Beautiful."
