Broadway 'Spider-Man' Falls 30 Feet During Stunt VIDEO

A stunt double playing Spiderman in new musical Spiderman:Turn Off the Dark fell about 30 feet when his safety harness malfunctioned during a performance on Monday night at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre.

31-year-old Christopher Tierney was rushed to hospital after the incident. Tierney is said to be in serious condition.

The accident is the latest of a series of mishaps to hit the troubled production. Star Natalie Mendoza suffered a concussion on the first night of previews when a rope broke and smacked her in the head. Kevin Aubin, a dancer and one of Spidey's stunt doubles, broke both wrists during in rehearsal in October while executing a flying stunt.

The show is due to officially open on February 7 after being delayed by four weeks.

The $65-million-dollar production was conceived by Tony-Award-winning Director and Co-Writer Julie Taymor and U2's Bono and The Edge, who wrote the music.
