Heidi Jones Faked Rape Story to Gain Sympathy
- Heidi Jones, a meteorologist on WABC-TV was suspended Wednesday after police said she made up claims she was assaulted in Central Park. Jones told police Nov. 24 that a man had tried to rape her a month earlier as she ran in Central Park. She admitted fabricating the story and said she was having some personal problems in her life and thought the story would gain her sympathy.
