Swimsuit designer Sylvie Cachay, 33, was found dead on Dec. 9 in a bathtub at Manhattan's posh Soho House hotel and cops are questioning her boyfriend, Nicholas Brooks - the son of Oscar-winning composer and accused sex attacker Joseph Brooks.

Sylvie Cachay's partially clothed body was found by a hotel employee just before 3 a.m. after guests on the floors below complained of water leaking through their ceilings.

Sylvie had wounds on her neck that suggested strangulation, bleeding in her eyes and a bite mark on her hand, cops said. Sylvie and Nicholas checked into the exclusive Soho House together early Thursday.

Just hours before Sylvie's body was found, sources say, she dumped her unemployed, 26-year-old boyfriend. Sylvie's West Village apartment neighbors say, the couple had a huge fight the day before.

"I heard them fighting and he yelled, 'You really hurt me,'" a neighbor Judy told police. "I heard her crying and him stomping around. Then I heard a loud crash in her apartment like someone was thrown on the floor. Minutes later, I could hear her whimpering."

Nicholas and Sylvie have only been dating a few months. His father, Joseph Brooks, 72, was accused of sexually abusing 11 young actresses, and was indicted in 2009 with 82 counts of sex related crimes.

Sylvie Cachay was a known fashion designer who had designed for Victoria's Secret and Tommy Hilfiger.

It's such a shame that that beautiful woman with so many other people surrounding her all the time, for some reason, thought that she could do no better than that creep.  So sad.  She had probably been getting emotionally abused by him from day one, then the physical abuse started which led to the fear of not being able to leave. I just wish she had confided in someone that could have helped her get away from him.  Such a waste...  :(  eye for an eye, I say..

Drugs and passion are a bad mix. This kid was heading for disaster. Obviously, a fight began, tempers flared, he choked her and put her in a running bath tub. Then left the hotel, to continue partying. There isn't enough money or good attorney that will get him off.
