Malin Akerman, best known for her roles in "Watchmen" and "The Heartbreak Kid", has reportedly signed on to take over Lindsay Lohan's role in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic "Inferno".

According to Deadline, the 32-year-old Swedish actress will portray porn star Linda Lovelace, who starred in 1972's infamous Deep Throat.

The movie's director or Matthew Wilder confirmed yesterday that they are moving on without the Lindsay: "We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her - and some other issues - have made it impossible for us to go forward."

Meanwhile, Lindsay's camp is insisting that she's the one who pulled the plug on the gig.
