Demi Lovato in Rehab for Emotional, Physical Issues, Eating Disorders, Cutting

Demi Lovato shocked fans Monday night by announcing that she has bowed out of the Jonas Brothers tour and checked into a rehab center for "emotional and physical issues." Now a source close to her family has confirmed that she's being treated for cutting, as well as an eating disorder. The source said,
"She was bullied in school. She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. [She] is taking control by getting help. She definitely had body-image issues. She was always conscious of her weight. Like many other teenage girls, she struggled a lot to fit in and find acceptance."
Demi was bullied to such a degree that she had to be home-schooled in the seventh grade, she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2008.
According to TMZ, Demi, 18, recently was in a physical altercation with a female member of her tour and that served a "catalyst" in her decision to seek help. Rumors are running rampant that the female in question is her ex Joe Jonas' new girlfriend Ashley Greene. (Let me remind you, we're talking rumor here, not fact.)
A rep for Demi said in a statement, "Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media please respect their privacy during this difficult time. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."
The good news is that she is not receiving treatment for drug use, her rep confirms to TMZ.
Demi's father, Patrick Lovato believes the pressure of Hollywood got to her. "There are a lot of pressures. That is one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney. It's just going to happen," he said.
Demi's parents are divorced and her father is battling cancer. The last time Demi visited him was reportedly 2008.
Our thoughts and good wishes are with Demi during this difficult time. Leave your words of support for Demi Lovato below.

What a very mature decision for someone in her situation. Hope this helps other young girls recognize that they are not alone and will seek help as well.

Dear Demi, hang on, the reward is just around the corner if you have the patience and will to wait for it. Love yourself much more than you do now, trust your instincts and let the past go. Yoga and meditation will help to show you the way. Life is never easy but it is worth living, and you have an amazing talent, do not waste it, do not give up, and remember it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
You are in my family's prayers. Blessed be...

Demi! You're an amazing actress, and you're soooo funny. You have an amazing voice and you are really pretty. Me and my sister both watch your show all the time and I hope you know that even people that don't like Disney love you and admire you. I know you're going through a lot but I hope you learn to find the joy in life, and I hope you keep in mind that the haters are just jealous of you. :) :) Or they're just spiteful, bitter people. (Yeah, meanie comment people, I'm talking to you). If there is one thing I've learned in life, it's that there will be people that will love you, and people that will hate you. The people that deserve to be in your life are the people that will never leave your side. I wish I could give you a big hug right now and tell you that everything is going to be okay, and everybody thinks you are so brave and responsible for choosing to go to Rehab. I respect you and admire you! <3 Amanda
