Miley Cyrus' Parents Billy Ray & Tish File for Divorce
Miley Cyrus's parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, are divorcing after 17 years of marriage.
The couple filed divorce documents earlier today in Tennessee citing irreconcilable differences.
"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," they say in a statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."
According to reports, Billy Ray made the first move in his divorce from Tish. He is asking for "shared" custody of the couple's 3 minor children. He is also asking to make an "equitable distribution of the marital estate."
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus married in 1992 and have three children together - Miley, Noah and Braison. He also adopted her two children, Trace and Brandi, who she had with different boyfriends before they were married. Rumor has it that Billy Ray also has a son Christopher who was born to an ex-girlfriend the same year Miley was born.
