Paul The Psychic Octopus Is Dead
Paul the psychic octopus is dead!
Paul the Octopus, who correctly predicted the outcome of eight World Cup soccer matches, died today at the Sea Life Center in Oberhausen, Germany.
He was two years old.
Officials say Paul "appears to have passed away peacefully during the night, of natural causes."
"Management and staff of the Oberhausen Sea Life Aquarium were devastated when Paul was found dead this morning," the aquarium where Paul lived said in a statement.
Paul became famous for his World Cup predictions this summer when he correctly predicted all seven of Germany's World Cup matches -- as well as the final between Spain and the Netherlands. Paul picked the winners by choosing between two food containers that had the competing teams' flags attached to them.
