Jessica Marotta Photo, Joe Cerniglia Was Having An Affair With Pastry Chef
Joseph (Joe) Cerniglia, the married New Jersey chef who committed suicide last Friday, was allegedly having an affair with his much-younger pastry chef Jessica Marotta.
Cerniglia, a participant on Chef Gordon Ramsay's TV show Kitchen Nightmares, jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge last week. His body was found floating in the Hudson river.
It is said that the 39-year-old chef and owner of Campania restaurant, was under huge debts.
His tragic death is now taking a shocking turn as sources say Cerniglia was carrying on an affair with Jessica Marotta, and the affair ruined his marriage.
Jessica's mother, Ana Marotta said, "They loved each other very much. My daughter is devastated."
Jessica Marotta, 27, worked as a waitress before becoming a co-owner of Cerniglia's Campania restaurant in Fair Lawn, NJ.
Joe Cerniglia had three young sons with his wife, Melissa Cerniglia. He and Melissa were reportedly separated when he took the fatal plunge.
