Melissa Petro Photos, Bronx Teacher Admits Being Ex-Hooker
Melissa Petro, a teacher working at a Bronx elementary school has been reassigned after she admitted being a hooker in an online article.
Melissa Petro, 30, posted an essay this month on Huffington Post - criticizing popular online classified Craigslist for removing its "adult services" section, and revealed that she also had been a prostitute.
"From October 2006 to January 2007, I accepted money in exchange for sexual services I provided to men I met online in what was then called the 'erotic services' section of Craigslist.org," Petro wrote, using her real name and picture. "At Craigslist.org, I was able to bill myself as exactly what I was at the time: a graduate student, bored and curious, sexually uninhibited, looking to make a little money while having a little fun."
"Ultimately, while my experience as a "non-pro" was not the "fun" I had come looking for -- I found the lifestyle physically demanding, emotionally taxing and spiritually bankrupting, and so I made a decision to desist some months after I'd gotten started," Petro wrote.
The tattooed ex-hooker and stripper has been teaching art in the Bronx elementary school for three years. According to the NYPost, parents and faculty were stunned by the revelation.
Petro had been reassigned pending an inquiry by the special commissioner of investigation for the city schools.

Melissa Petro is probably writing a book about her former professions and wants it to be a bestseller. Meanwhile, she is gathering public attention by using the Department of Education as an advertising Launchpad. Otherwise she will not be so eager to bring that information. The question is: How she manages to pass the New York City background check for employment?
Prostitution is the practice of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations for money. Thus, a broad range of people fit that definition when they have sex with another man beside their spouses or boyfriend for material things such as: periodic financial assistance, shoes, clothing, BlackBerry, to help paying the rent, to secure advantageous privilege at the job etc. it is the same principle. Thus, current statistics regarding the number of functional prostitutes are underrepresented.
