'American Idol' Shakeups: Ellen DeGeneres Quits, Kara DioGuardi Fired, Steven Tyler & Jennifer Lopez In?

After Ellen DeGeneres announced she is leaving American Idol, a new report suggests that Kara DioGuardi has been fired and two newcomers - Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will be joining the judges' panel when the upcoming 10th season returns in January.

Yesterday, Ellen released the following statement about her decision to quit:

"A couple months ago, I let Fox and the 'American Idol' producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me," she said. "I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be."

With DioGuardi's reported firing, the show will return to a three-person judging panel, says TMZ. According to various sources, Jennifer Lopez has signed on to become a Season 10 judge while Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been offered the spot to replace Simon Cowell, who left the show last season to headline an American version of The X-Factor.

Fox has not officially announced Kara's departure.

J LO would be an excellent addition to IDOL, she has stage experience, she is a singer, dancer, actress and brilliant businesswoman with a fun personality.Finally, a Judge tuned in to TODAY'S music!!
Sean Combs would also be a great choice to replace Cowell, he is genius in the music business.
Also, Brit Spears or Timberlake would be fun.
