Sandra Bullock Adoption, Divorce : PEOPLE Magazine Interview
Sandra Bullock confirms to PEOPLE Magazine that she has filed for divorce from Jesse James. Not only that, Bullock, 45, has adopted a baby boy from New Orleans. Her newborn son, Louis Bardo is three months old.
In this week's new issue of PEOPLE Magazine - on newsstands everywhere Friday - the Oscar-winning actress tells that she and James began the adoption process four years ago and brought their new son home in January, but now, she plans to raise him as a single mother.
Speaking about the divorce, she says she is "sad and scared" about it.
She says she had no idea about Jesse's infidelity, exposed by Michelle "Bombshell" McGee in March.
When asked about the Nazi photos Sandra responded, "The photo shocked me and made me sad. This is not the man I married. This was stupid, this was ignorant. Racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia, anything Nazi and a boatload of other things have no place in my life." Bullock added, "And the man I married felt the same."

Sandra Bullock's Child to Face Life of Discrimination Warns Group
Due to archaic laws that are a legacy of cultural shame stigmatizing infertility, unwed mothers, and adoption, almost 90% of American adoptees, including Sandra Bullock's new baby, will face a life of discrimination unless current laws are changed.

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Adoptee Rights Demonstration; http://www.adopteerights.net ; adopted persons, their families and friends will be gathering in Louisville, Kentucky during the Annual Summit of the National Conference of State Legislators. The third annual demonstration fights for the equal rights of adopted persons in the United States. This includes the adopted son of Academy Award winning actress, Sandra Bullock. The organizations activity includes a public demonstration and march.
Less Than 5% of American Adoptees Have Access to their own information.
In the United States only six states (Alabama, Alaska, Kansas, Maine, New Hampshire and Oregon) allow adopted persons equal access to their original birth certificates. There are still 44 American states not allowing adopted persons their birth certificates because of circumstances beyond their control and based on situations that happened before they were born. Several states have changed legislation and allow partial access, such as Massachusetts and Illinois, while other states such as New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island have pending legislation. In both Louisiana and California, where Louis Bardo Bullock was born and now lives, his original birth certificate will forever be sealed away undercurrent legislation.
The participants of the Adoptee Rights Demonstration believe that all people in the United States should be treated equally; not based on the state of residence or the circumstances of their birth. To deny adopted people their own record of birth is discrimination. Adoptee Rights volunteers help educate the state representatives about the need to introduce legislation that will allow adopted persons in the United States equal access to their original birth certificates.
Marching to Restore The Civil Rights of Adoptees
On July 25, 2010 at 11:30 am, The Adoptee Rights Demonstrators will gather at the Hampton Inn Downtown Louisville, Kentucky and will march to the Annual Summit of the National Conference of State Legislatures being held at the at the Kentucky International Convention Center (221 South 4th Street Louisville, KY). Members and volunteers of the Adoptee Rights Coalition will also be exhibiting at the NCSL Legislative Summit. Adult adoptees from around the world will be joined by the mothers who relinquished them, plus families and supporters asking for one simple act; change the laws so to restore equality for Americans!
Many Reps Are Clueless Regarding State Discrimination Laws
When asked about the current adoption laws in their own state, many state legislators will find that the Adoptee Rights Volunteers know much more about the laws then they do.
"We have found that much of the general public, including many elected officials, are woefully unaware of the legal discrimination sanctioned in this country. Even adoptive parents and mothers have no idea that the laws are still decades old. If Sandra Bullock and every other caring adoptive parent knew that they were raising a child to be discriminated against, they would be marching with us in Kentucky." states Jeff Hancock, adoptee and demonstration organizer.
No legislation or on any adoption contract does it state why an adopted person is not entitled to their own birth certificate. Most adoption laws were created to "protect" the infant from the stigma of bastardization, but those provisions are no longer needed. Those who continue to deny adult adoptees access to their original birth certificates are doing so based on erroneous beliefs and information not supported by historical and or statistical facts or original laws.
