Boy Terrified Adoptive Family, Returned to Russia Alone

A news about a 7-year-old adopted Russian boy who was sent alone on a one-way flight from US back to Moscow by his adoptive mother, has sparked international outrage.

Torry Ann Hansen, 33, a nurse from Shelbyville, Tennessee, gave the child she adopted in September, Artyom Savelyev, a typed note for Russian government officials claiming he was violent and had severe psychological problems.

"He drew a picture of our house burning down and he'll tell anybody that he's going to burn our house down with us in it," Hansen told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "It got to be where you feared for your safety. It was terrible."
