Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy Split

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy have called it quits after five years together.

"Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best!" Carrey, 48, posted on Twitter Tuesday.

A rep for McCarthy told ET: "Yes, we can confirm that Jenny and Jim have mutually and amicably ended their five-year relationship. Jenny says, 'I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together. I will continue to be in his daughter's life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.'"

McCarthy, 37, recently joked that they were considering walking down the aisle.

"We say 'never,' but I don't know," she told UsMagazine in February. "Maybe for tax purposes, someday, when we are old. "That's what we keep joking -- like, when we are 70! But for now, we're fine. We are really fine!"

Jim Carrey has been married twice, first to Melissa Womer, with whom he has a daughter, Jane. Carrey's second marriage to Lauren Holly lasted less than a year. McCarthy divorced director John Asher, the father of her 7-year-old son Evan, in 2005 after six years of marriage.
