Angela Martin Gets Big Surprise From Ellen DeGeneres

American Idol contestant Angela Martin just got some very good news from Ellen DeGeneres.

Martin, who just got cut on her third try-out for the show, has been plagued by tragedies of late. Her mother went missing after Christmas. When she first auditioned in 2007 and made it to Hollywood, her father was murdered. On her second try, she had to serve jail time over a traffic violation. Her 10-year-old daughter Jessica has a severe sizure disorder.

The 28-year-old single mother appeared on Ellen Friday and talked about her time on Idol, her missing mother and performed "Superwoman."

And then Ellen gave her the big news! "We're going to get you a record label," Ellen said.
