Nancy Kerrigan's Father Dies, Brother Mark Kerrigan Arrested

Former U.S. figure skating champion Nancy Kerrigan's father, Daniel Kerrigan was found dead at his Boston home yesterday and her brother Mark Kerrigan was arrested in connection with the incident.

Mark Kerrigan has been charged with assaulting their 70-year-old father who was found unresponsive early Sunday morning and later died.

The Boston Globe reports, there was a struggle between Daniel and Mark Kerrigan in the kitchen area. According to a police report,

"He stated that he wanted to use the phone and his father would not let him. He said he struggled with his father and put his hands around his father's neck and his father fell to the floor. He said that his father was faking it.''

Mark Kerrigan is scheduled to appear in court today.

Two-time Olympic medal winner Nancy Kerrigan, now a 40-year-old married mother of three, lives in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, with her husband Jerry Solomon and children.
