Michael Ventrella - Heaviest Contestant Ever on The Biggest Loser
The ninth season of the Biggest Loser Couples begins tonight with the heaviest -ever contestant in the show's history.
6 feet 3 inches tall deejay Michael Ventrella tipped the scales at 526 pounds on his first weigh in, holding the dubious distinction of being the heaviest-ever contestant.
Michael and his is mother, Maria, a 51-year-old corporate travel agent joins 10 other family teams of two hoping to transform their bodies, their health and their lives.

"I would do anything for Michael," Maria, who starts at 281 lbs., tells PEOPLE. "At first I didn't think I could do it because I have too many responsibilities at home. I have a husband who is disabled, my mom in a wheelchair, a full-time job, home cleaning - it's a lot. But then he needed it so bad and so I am here, and I need it for myself, too!"
The Ventrellas are one of eight parent-child duos on the show this season.
The season premiere of The Biggest Loser airs tonight at 8 pm on NBC.
