Solange Magnano, Former Miss Argentina Dies From Plastic Surgery Complications

Solange Magnano, a former Miss Argentina, died from complications after undergoing a plastic surgery procedure on her buttocks.
The 38-year-old suffered a pulmonary embolism after three days in critical condition following a gluteoplasty - a procedure also known as buttocks augmentation which involves placing implants in the buttocks to improve their outline.
A close friend, Roberto Piazza said the procedure involved injections and the liquid "went to her lungs and brain."
"A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind," Piazza said.
Solange Magnano leaves behind a husband and eight-year-old twins. She won her crown in 1994.

People sometimes fail to realize that any surgery is potentailly life threatening; this callls into question the wisdom of elective/vanity medical-surgery. It is tragic that so many women aspire to the airbrushed image of perfection we see in magazines and on film. Our character and intelligence create inner beauty that cannot be artificially created but our world values exterior beauty and youth more than anything else.
