Tiger Woods Injured in Car Accident

Pro golfer Tiger Woods has reportedly been taken to a hospital following a car crash in Orlando, Florida.

Officials told news channel CNN that the one-car accident took place near Woods' Windermere home on Friday around 2:25 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the golfer had just pulled out of his driveway in his Cadillac SUV when his car struck a fire hydrant, leaving the front of his vehicle stuck in a tree, according to CNN.

The car wreck is under investigation and, according to a statement obtained by the news channel, the accident does not appear to have involved alcohol.

UPDATE: Woods is said to be released from hospital with mild facial lacerations.
