Tom Sparks Wipeout Contestant Dies

Tom Sparks, a 33-year-old contestant on ABC's reality competition "Wipeout" died on Nov 5, reports ET.
Tom Sparks was hospitalized after he complained of knee pain and experienced shortness of breath during the taping of the popular ABC show.
He died two weeks later of a stroke, apparently caused by a pre-existing condition.
Tom's father, Billy Sparks, revealed he suffered from antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), a disease that causes unnatural clotting of the blood. It is unclear at this time whether he revealed this condition to producers before competing on the show.
The cause of death has been deferred pending additional tests, the L.A. County Coroner's office told ET.
Tom was a recent graduate of the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. He was competing on "Wipeout" with his wife, Kate. The couple married 2 months ago and had recently returned from a European honeymoon.
