Darius Rucker Wins New Artist of the Year, 2009 CMA Awards Performance

Darius Rucker took home the crystal statue for Best New Artist of the Year at the 2009 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards in Nashville, Tenn. Nov. 11, 2009.

Rucker, 43, who has sold 1 million copies of his first country album, "Learn to Live," became the second African-American to win a major individual CMA.

The Hootie & the Blowfish frontman-turned-country crooner also performed "Alright." Watch the Video.
