while I think that Taylor Swift is a talented musician and performer...her vocal skills are simply horrendous!! am I missing something here??

She tries and thats all that matters she tries...you can tell that she is insecure and softspoken but its cool. As long as she continues to separate on stage from at home....She should strongly create an alter ego Call herself Taylor Fierce.

You are not missing something.  She is horrible as a singer.  She should be a song writer, but the folks in Nashville with whatever record label she signed with had been salivating eversince she showed up dressed like a sex symbol while being escorted by her parents when she was 17 years old.  They didn't even listen to any of her demos I think.......she is absolutely a horrible vocalist.....but that simply doesn't seem to matter anymore in the image of country music and what it used to be as the popular song said.....video killed the radio star.  The sound engineers certainly know what to do to make her sound fairly descent on the radio and in videos, but you can still hear the horrible off key sounds....especially after you've seen her live.  Absolutely horrible.  I'm so pissed at Country music for resting their laurels on her shoulders as their symbol and their best female singer.  It is a travesty that other great singers are getting the miff due to her selling millions of records to tone deaf teens that think she's hot and that she is such a great performer and that all that matters is she's TRYING!  Wake up people!!!!!!  She is not a good vocalist!  She should not be cleaning house with awards like VOCALIST OF THE YEAR.  I'm calling BS. I don't know what else to say.  I'm listening exclusively to Bluegrass where a lot of country music artists that matter and older artists that love good, real good music that requires actual skill in order to perform are going to.  I can't believe this keeps happening and they keep shoving this horrible performer down our throats.  I'm really close to boycotting Country Music until a "real" good performer actually wins VOCALIST OF THE YEAR.

this was the worst cma awards show i have ever watched.  Im not sure where Country Music is going, but its very disappointing   We need some Waylon & Johnny Cash,Loretta Lynn , only to mention a few,,, and show them how its really done..
