Deer Jumps Into Lion Exhibit Video
A wild baby deer escaped the claws of a lion after jumping into a lion enclosure at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. on Sunday.
Tow female lions went after the deer and severely injured it. The courageous creature managed to run away by jumping into a moat to swim to safety. The horrified zoo visitors cheer it on as the deer fought to escape from the big cats.
The dramatic scene was caught on tape. Watch the video!
Despite breaking free, the Washington Post reports that its injuries were too serious and the baby deer had to be euthanized.
