Last night during the taping of his talk show, David Letterman took time to apologize to his wife Regina Lasko saying she has been "horribly hurt" by his actions, and that he has his work cut out for for him to patch things up at home.

"My wife Regina, she has been horribly hurt by my behavior. And when something happens like that, if you hurt person and it's your responsibility, you try to fix it," he told his "Late Show" audience. "At that point there is only two things that can happen, either you are going to make some progress and get it fixed or you're gonna fall short and perhaps not get it fixed. So let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me."

The late night host married Regina Lasko, with whom he has 5-year-old son Harry, on March of this year after 23 years of dating. He was previously married for seven years to his college sweetheart Michelle Cook. They divorced in 1977.
