Anita Tedaldi Adopted Child Returned After 18 Months
Anita Tedaldi, a woman who adopted a child and then gave him up 18 months later appeared on the "Today Show" this morning to explain her decision.
"I loved him and I cared deeply for him," Tedaldi told TODAY's Matt Lauer Thursday in New York. "I tried to do the same exact thing I did with my biological children, but over time it became clear that our family maybe wasn't a good match for him, that we were unable to meet some of his needs."
Teldaldi, the mother to five biological daughters, adopted the baby boy referred to as "D," who'd been abandoned by the side of a road. But 18 months later she returned "D" because she didn't bond with him.
"D" was eventually placed with a new family. He is said to be bonding well with his new mother, Samantha, as well as her husband and son.
While many people lammed Anita decision, several others, however, sympathized with her situation after reading her story about her struggle to connect with the baby.
