Kanye West may have stolen Taylor Swift's speech, but it was Lady Gaga who stole the show in a variety of scary outfits at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in NYC on Sunday.

Gaga worked the red carpet in a black feathered dress with a gold Phantom of the Opera mask and a macabre hat - to top it all off. Oh, and her date was none other than Kermit the Frog.

During the night Gaga showed off her daring fashion sense with countless costume changes.

Onstage, the 23-year-old singer tripped to her skivvies with a belly baring top and white underwear - for a dramatic rendition of her latest hit "Paparazzi."

Wow...gotta love Gaga..she's a true original, like the Cyndi Lauper for the new Millenium.  But, she's also parts Madonna, Pink....and Alice Cooper.
