Lucinda Williams to Marry Tom Overby Onstage
Alt-country queen Lucinda Williams has a very special treat in store for fans at her 30th Anniversary Show.
Three-time Grammy Award-winner Lucinda Williams is set to marry Tom Overby on stage during a concert Sept. 18 at First Avenue in Minneapolis, reports Star Tribune.
The couple will tie the knot during the break between the regular set and the encore. Williams is following in the footsteps of her idol Hank Williams, who married his second wife onstage in New Orleans.
A former Best Buy executive, Overby was introduced to Williams by mutual friends about five years ago. Overby now works as her manager and co-produced Lucinda's most recent LP "Little Honey."
This will be the 56-year-old singer-songwriter's second marriage. Williams was married to Long Ryders drummer Greg Sowders for a brief time in the 1980s.
