There's not even one contestant from asia entered top 15. Surprised much?

It's because asian women have more integrity not to 'hit-the-shack' with the judges. It's no secret that pageant contest is brutal. And the finalist are the ones who's willing to do 'more' than the others.

And the western world is still infatuated with artificial beauty. White 'bleached/veneer crown' teeth, full(er) 'injected' lips, big(ger) 'implanted' boobs, chiseled 'tucked/sucked' abs, perfect tan from tanning salon, and the list goes on.

It's not important if the winner still need translator to speak english, when other contestant from a no speaking english country can speak perfect english. Or she's barely over the legal age to drink, a freshman on college, with biggest acomplishment was being a captain of a cheerleader squad, have a dream of being a lawyer/doctor/bussiness woman, but yet they havent taste the real world, whereas other contestant IS a doctor/lawyer/bussiness woman, but they're not as young and perky as the youngsters. All i see is, as long you look smokin' hot on stage and just got out of puberty, you have a big chance to win a pageant.

Harsh, but so damn true.

I'm glad she won. She's beautiful along with the other contestants. I'm saddened that someone calling themselves an American would make a racial statement about not wanting a black girl to win. The first runner up was stunning. She would be an excellent winner as well.

I think the pageant is not fair for those who live in another planet or galaxy.
Ms universe should allow delegates outside earth to compete the pageant or else, the pageant's name should be changed!

I've been in different beauty pageants before, but I don't find the Miss universe fair for the other girls, with my experince, I'd find fair if the contest should have in the top 5 there  one candidate for each CONTINENT (Europe, Asia, Africa, Americas, oceania) this way, you're giving hope to the other girls to win... I do find Venezuela beautiful, but I sitll think the Dominican R. girl should of won...and to make it clear.. all girls in the contest were beautiful!

Apparently, there's an obvious discrimination of natural beauties coming from asia since not one was included in the final 15.  These girls were just wasting their time and money joining this contest!

i'm not satisfied with the judges i don;t think if they had a favorite and i hate does judges because some of the asian had a very beautiful face and also with the body and i think yhis miss universe was so dirty because no one in asian country did not make it to top15..and it's possible...and i think all the judges came from the western country that's why they did not choseany one from asia like philippines and thailand they are deserve on the spot of miss france and miss switzerland......don't think that's unfair to but the award for miss congenielity and photogenic gave it to asian country thats so unfair.....i hate miss univere now because they are unppredictable and so unfair.....

la verdad siento que el miss universo busca mas que un rostro bello y una estética corporal armónica, un chica con alma con disciplina entregada a ser la embajadora y mensajera conciencia y humanidad.....
Venezuela creo que mas en este momento de tantos cambios sociales y políticos a entrenado no solo a las reinas de belleza si no también a su pueblos  a ser luchadores a entender las necesidades de la humanidad que son mas profundos...
bien por Estefania por que me inspira esa tranquilidad y serenidad de una mujer, la veo muy centrada y creo que puede ser un buen ejemplo para las niñas y señoritas del mundo ya que como bien sabemos la juventud de hoy en día esta viendo otras cosas... esta puede ser una cara distinta del medio.

It is a suggestion: I  think next time you should require to the International or Universal Competition like Ms UNiverse that the candidate or representative of every country should speak in english; no interpreter required because sometimes the audience think that the interpreter helps the candidate/s to explain well the answer or to express their opinions. English is an international or Universal language. So, let's use it. This is an observation for how many years.

Booh! to all of you that the contest was fixed in favor of Venezuela or a non-African or non-Black girl. Let me remind you that Miss Universe 2007 was Jananese and that black girls have also won back-to-back (remember Miss Trinidad & Tobago and Miss Botswana?). Also, booh to those that feel that MU is not a fair pageant... compared to what? Miss World, always picks Miss India regardless? Or Miss International, picking asians left and right? And as far a Latinas and Venezuelan grils, even those pageants always pick Venezuelan girls one way or another. And to those that say that asian girls have more integrity, let me remind you that asian girls throw themselves to american (white looking) sailors at asian ports, preferring whites and being not so innocent themselves; so you really think that a white-ruled-given crown is of no interest to them the same? How about that for integrity?

the miss univers pagant should star picking ladies from countries that don't ever make the finals year after year. also black girls have the right to win just as any other girl does and to make a statement like that is just plain dumb. i hope to see black women win in 2010 as DR should have won last year. i think miss world is more fair to women of color. the best venezuelan in mu was carolina in 1999 she should have won that year.
