The nominees for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced. Beyonce and Lady Gaga have each earned nine MTV Video Music Award nominations. Britney Spears has earned an impressive seven nominations for Womanizer and Circus.


Kanye West, Jay-Z, Green Day, Eminem and Coldplay also got multiple nominations.


Also vying for a moonman statue: Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Flo Rida, Fall Out Boy and Kings of Leon.


The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards air live from New York City on Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. and will be hosted by Russell Brand.
