Michael Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson was granted the right to raise the late pop superstar's three children, after a hearing in a Los Angeles courtroom Monday morning.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge ruled Katherine Jackson will be the permanent guardian of her grandchildren Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and Prince Michael II, 7.

Michael named his 79-year-old mother his first choice to raise his children in a 2002 will. She has been looking after the children since the singer's sudden death on June 25.

Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Deborah Rowe, who gave birth to the two older children, will reportedly have visitation rights with them.

The court ruled that the allowances for Katherine and Jackson's children will be sealed. The court will revisit Katherine's allowance in six months. The allowance for Jackson's kids will be eighty-three percent of what was requested.
