Paula Abdul Not Likely to Return to American Idol

After eight seasons in the judge's chair, Paula Abdul most likely won't be returning back to American Idol for its upcoming season, according to Abdul's manager.
 

"Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on Idol," Paula's manager, David Sonenberg, told the Los Angeles Times.

With auditions for the ninth season due to start Aug. 6, Sonenberg says he doesn’t have a contract on the table right now for Paula to return to the Fox's hit show.

"I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful," Sonenberg said. "I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven't stepped up and said what they want to do."

RadarOnline.com has learned that Paula is asking for a $20 million deal to come back - a demand that has been turned down so far. She is currently making between $2 and $3 million a year.
 

This week, Idol’s Ryan Seacrest signed a three-year, $45 million deal to continue on as host. Abdul’s other “Idol” colleagues, Simon Cowell is reportedly in negotiations to renew his contract that ends next year, while Randy Jackson has inked his stay until 2011. The ninth season is set to premiere in January.
