Amanda Brumfield - Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Arrested in Death of Baby

Amanda Brumfield - the oldest daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been charged with child neglect in the death of a 1-year-old she was babysitting on October 3, 2008, according to TMZ.com. She was taken into custody on Friday.

Amanda Brumfield told cops the child died after falling from her playpen. Brumfield told that after the baby had fallen, she discovered her tongue bleeding, so she cleaned it with a paper towel and began playing with the child.

Brumfield then said she laid the child on the couch next to her and fell asleep. When she woke up, she discovered the child's body was limp.

However, a spokesman for the Ocoee Police Department said Amanda Brumfield's story didn't add up. According to police, the call for emergency help didn't come until two and a half hours later.

An autopsy determined, the child suffered a fractured skull and a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma.

Brumfield is Thornton's daughter with his first wife, Melissa Gatlin.

This IS A MISTAKE!!! I know Amanda and she is a GREAT MOTHER!  She would NEVER intentionally harm a child, or anyone for that matter, and would DEFINITELY NOT delay calling 911 unless she didn't think it was necessary!!!
