Natalie Cole's Sister Cookie Passes Away
Natalie Cole has just had the most brutal week of her life.
While the singer was undergoing kidney transplant surgery this week, her older sister, Cookie, passed away, according to reports.
Natalie, who struggles with kidney disease, was with her cancer-stricken sister, Carole “Cookie” Cole when she got a call from doctors saying that a kidney had become available and that she could receive a transplant immediately.
Though she hesitated to leave, younger sister Timolin convinced her to go, saying, "Cookie would want this for you."
Sadly, a few hours later when Natalie was undergoing surgery, her older sister passed away.
The singer's rep called the family's life-and-death drama a tragic coincidence.
Our hearts go out to Natalie and her family. May Cookie rest in peace.
