Miss California Carrie Prejean who made headlines for her controversial remarks about gay marriage at Sunday's Miss USA pageant - is dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.

Prejean's grandmother, Jeanette Coppolla, confirmed that the Miss USA runner-up is currently dating the Olympic medalist.

"Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch," Coppolla said. "He always calls her when he is in town and they go out."

"Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn't serious about being in a relationship with him," she added. "He's a nice guy and she likes him."

Phelps has been romantically linked to multiple girls including a Las Vegas cocktail waitress Caz Pal , as recently as last month.

Prejean has come under fire this week for stance against same sex marriage. Wonder what is her opinion about smoking weed. As we may recall, Phelps was embroiled in a drugs scandal after a photograph showed him inhaling from a bong.
