Joanna Pacitti Disqualified from American Idol Top 36, Felicia Barton In
American Idol top 36 finalist Joanna Pacitti, has been disqualified from the competition because FOX said Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition.
Fox released a statement late Wednesday explaining Pacitti's disqualification as to "avoid the appearance of impropriety."
"It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition," stated a Fox press release.
No specific reason was given for the ineligibility of Pacitti.
The 23-year-old created controversy earlier this season when it was revealed that she already had two record deals, had sung on major soundtracks, and had a quick stint on Broadway at age 12.
According to last week's Star Magazine, Joanna Pacitti has ties with American Idol, with rumors buzzing that she has a private relationship with one of the companies that oversees American Idol, 19 Management.
According to Reality TV World, Felicia Barton, a 26-year-old wife and mother from Virginia Beach, VA, will replace Pacitti in the season's Top 36 semifinals. Here's a photo of Felicia Barton.
