Former Falcons player Shane Dronett found dead

Shane Dronett, a former football player for the Atlanta Falcons, was found dead in his Gwinnett County home on Wednesday. He was 38.
 

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. According to reports, Gwinnett County police responded to a 911 suicide call from his house.


Dronett played 11 seasons in the NFL and his last six with the Atlanta Falcons. He was a member of Atlanta's 1998 Super Bowl team and was a second-round pick by the Denver Broncos in the 1992 NFL draft following an all-American career at the University of Texas.


Dronett's funeral will be held in his home state of Texas.
