Leigh Teixeira - Mark Teixeira's wife

Meet Leigh Teixeira, the wife of the New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira. Mark officially joined the Yankees on Tuesday, finalizing a $180 million, eight-year deal initially agreed to Dec. 23.
Yankees can actually thank Leigh Teixeira for their new first baseman. The 28-year-old slugger revealed during a press conference,
"Two weeks before Christmas, I talked to [my wife] Leigh about it again, and we kind of decided that, hey, the Yankees are where we want to be. Cash [Brian Cashman] might want to give Leigh a hug, because when I asked her during the process, 'Where should I go, where should I go?,' she'd always say, 'I just want you to be happy.' Finally she said, 'I want you to be a Yankee,' and it was a done deal."
One of baseball's top young stars, Mark is a two-time Gold Glove winner and career .290 hitter. Mark 's eight-year US$180-million contract with the New York Yankees is the fourth richest contract in Major League Baseball history.
Leigh and Mark were college sweethearts at Georgia Tech and have two children, Jack and Addison Leigh.
