President-Elect Barack Obama has been named Time Magazine’s 2008 “Person of the Year.”


The publication honors Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson,  French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Zhang Yimou, who directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics as runners-up in this year’s competition.
