William Balfour To Remain In Custody

William Balfour, the suspect in the murder of actress Jennifer Hudson's family is to remain behind bars while investigators continue to investigate the triple slaying.
Balfour, 27, was taken into police custody on October 24, the day that Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death. Authorities later said they were holding Balfour for an parole violation.
The Illinois Prisoner Review Board ruled this morning that there was reason to believe that William Balfour, 27, had violated his parole. The major reason was that his girlfriend had said that she had seen him with a gun that matched the murder weapon, according to Jorge Montes, chairman of the review board.
Balfour - the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson's older sister, Julia Hudson, served seven years for a 1999 attempted murder and vehicular hijacking conviction.
Another hearing for Balfour was scheduled for December 3.
